Mock Interview

A mock interview is an emulation of an interview used for training purposes. The interview tries to resemble a real interview as close as possible, and provide experience for the candidate. Mock interviews are often videotaped, and the candidate is shown the tape after the session, along with feedback from the interviewer. Mock interviews are most common for job interviews, but may also be used to train people to handle journalists.

What is a mock interview?:

§       A mock interview is a simulation interview.  Interviews will be conducted by Career Services staff members. 

§       Although your mock interviewer is well experienced in conducting the interview, he/she may be unable to answer specific questions about your field. 

§       The role of the mock interviewer during this portion of the interview is to advise you on appropriate questions to ask and guide you to resources that may provide you with tips on appropriate questions to ask.

Purpose:

§       To simulate actual interview conditions in order to provide a more comfortable interview experience.

§       To provide feedback that will aid you in assessing current strengths and weaknesses in regard to your interviewing skills.

§       To help you with the interview process: developing confidence and enhancing skills.

Declamation

• Declamation  is a recitation delivered as an exercise in rhetoric or elocution.
• It is a speech marked by strong feeling; a tirade.
• Debates and declamations are two forms of oratory argumentation. They are commonly employed as tools for educators as well as a means for structuring formal discussions
  

Simulation

• Simulation is the imitation of some real thing, state of affairs, or process.
• The act of simulating something generally entails representing certain key characteristics or behaviours of a selected physical or abstract system.
• Simulation is used in many contexts, such as simulation of technology for performance optimization, safety engineering, testing, training, education, and video games. Training simulators include flight simulators for training aircraft pilots.
• Simulation is one of the techniques used for teaching in classrooms.
• the teacher can provide situations to students in classroom. the students are expected to build the the sitautions on their own and act it in classroom. this practical activity needs to be incooperated with theory.
